Setting up your Email account through Outlook Express v 3.x and 4.x


Go to Tools menu and click Accounts (near the bottom), click the Add button then Mail...
Enter the Display name, this is the name you want to appear on your messages (i.e. your name).
Click Next.
Select 'I already have an e-mail address' and enter your assigned e-mail address.
Click Next.
Select 'Incoming mail' as POP3, and 'Incoming mail server' as "mail.cravenplan.co.uk", and your 'Outgoing mail server' is what you ISP's mail server has assigned you with. (If you are unsure of your ISP settings, please call us on 01747 858000 and we will try to help you).
Click Next.
Enter your assigned account name and password you have when applying for this E-mail account. Like "swallowcliffe_johnsmith" if you requested johnsmith. (Account name is NOT the same as your email address) Tick 'Remember password'.
Do NOT tick 'Log on using secure password authentication'.
Click Next.
Select 'Connection type' to using my phone line.
Click Next.
Select the modem you use to dial up.
Click Next.
Choose the dial up connection you wish to use to collect your E-Mail's.
Click Next.
Type in the phone number of your ISP.
Click Finish.
