Leaving appearance
aside, there are two main criteria a web site must fulfill, firstly it
must present information quickly, in an easy to navigate fashion, secondly,
it must be easily found in the major search engines. Whether building
from scratch, or modify an existing web site, search engine optimisation
is a fundamental consideration.
Independent
research suggests that around 90% of people searching the web for products
or services will use one of the top 10 search engines and that three quarters
of them don't look past the first two or three pages of results.
If a page
doesn't display within the first 12 to 15 seconds, most people will abandon
it, in any event, most people have made up their mind within the first
7 seconds!
So we endeavour
to get our sites as high as possible in the search engines, whilst ensuring
they are presented quickly. This is "Search Engine Optimisation".
Search engine
submission is also a major consideration. The top 10 major search engines
are responsible for almost all searches, so we only concentrate on these.
Many of them share their results out to the smaller engines anyway, so
there is absolutely no point in submitting to 30,000 search engines, infact
it can do more harm than good!
Website rankings change almost daily.
We stay up to the minute with SE developments.
We use five different programs to constantly monitor and reassess our
results.
We put every effort in to maintain and improve your websites position
in searches.
